About the role: depth and impact

At Aknostic, we believe in doing deep, meaningful work. You will focus on building and mastering a robust, standardized cloud platform that supports a diverse portfolio of applications for a select few major clients. This isn't about juggling dozens of shallow projects; it's about diving deep into the complex challenges of scaling, reliability, and automation for platforms that serve millions of users. Your work will be challenging and impactful from day one.

What you'll do

• Build & Migrate: Design and build new greenfield infrastructures or lead the migration of existing systems to the cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Advise & Support: Act as a trusted advisor to our customers (mainly developers and product owners), helping them solve complex infrastructure problems.

• Enhance & Innovate: Continuously improve our infrastructures for superior reliability, resilience, performance, and security, automating away manual toil.

• Operate & Improve: Set up monitoring and alerting, participate in an on-call rotation, and lead blameless post-mortems to prevent future incidents.

What You Bring to the Table (Requirements)

Your experience:

• Proven experience in a Software or Cloud Engineer, DevOps, or SRE role, building or operating distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (certifications are a big plus!).

• Preferably experience operating in a public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, Scaleway, DigitalOcean, etc.).

Your skills:

• The ability to apply software engineering principles—like writing clean, tested, documented and reusable code—to infrastructure automation and tooling

• Strong troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach to solving problems.

• Good communication skills in English.
  

Bonus Points For (Nice-to-Haves):

• Infrastructure as Code: e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet, or Ansible.

• CI/CD: Building and maintaining pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

• Experience with GitOps principles and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).

• A competitive salary between €3,700 - €6,000 based on experience.

• A fantastic, hybrid work model: 1 day at a customer's office, 1 day in our Utrecht office, and the rest from wherever you work best (the office is always option).
